We also won't quote a full replacement sight unseen. If the panel is bent, the track is racked, or the opener is original to the house, we need to look at it. A phone estimate on a door we haven't seen is a guess, and guesses turn into change orders on the day, which nobody likes.
Straight Answers
Some things we can price from a description. A broken torsion spring on a double door, a snapped cable, a opener that hums but won't lift - those are common enough that a clear description and a photo usually gets you a real number, not a range.
What we can't price without seeing the door: anything involving the track alignment, a panel that's been hit, or a door that's original to a house built well before code updates changed how sections and hardware are sized.
